At DogiZone, we’ve designed a structured learning path to take your dog through every stage of their training, from puppy basics to advanced off-leash obedience. Our goal is to help you and your dog succeed at every level.
Preschool: Puppy Socialization
For puppies under 16 weeks, this is the ideal time to start training and build a foundation for lifelong good behavior. In our Puppy Socialization classes, your puppy will:
- Learn essential skills like sit, stay, and polite greetings.
- Be introduced to new sounds, people, and other dogs in a safe, structured environment.
- Build confidence and prevent behavior problems before they start.
Elementary School: Basic Manners
Basic Manners is the foundation for all future training and is essential for every dog. In these classes, we focus on building solid communication between you and your dog, teaching them how to behave both at home and in public. Here, your dog will:
- Learn key commands like sit, down, stay, and come.
- Start to respond reliably to their name, even with mild distractions.
- Master polite greetings, sitting calmly when meeting people instead of jumping.
- Work on eliminating common problem behaviors, such as jumping, play-biting, and housebreaking challenges.
Middle School: Developing Leadership
Now that your dog has mastered the basics, it’s time to advance to the next level with Developing Leadership. In this stage, your dog will:
- Practice walking politely on a leash, staying focused on you even with distractions.
- Learn new commands like "come" and "stay" with increasing reliability.
- Begin auto-sitting at doors and for attention.
- Work on solving behavior problems like barking, chewing, or digging.
High School: Training with Distractions
In our Training with Distractions class, your dog will learn to stay obedient even in high-distraction environments, preparing them for real-world scenarios. Here, your dog will:
- Respond to commands, like "come," from a distance.
- Stay focused on you, even when there are other dogs or distractions around.
- Walk loosely on a leash and heel, even past distractions like other dogs and people.
- Stay calm and focused during real-life scenarios, like vet visits or crowded areas.
College: Advanced Obedience
In Advanced Obedience, we push your dog’s skills to the highest level, ensuring they are well-behaved in any situation, both on and off-leash. This course is for dogs that have successfully completed previous levels of training and are ready to excel in more challenging environments. Your dog will:
- Strengthen their “come” and “stay” commands, including mastering emergency recall.
- Heel and walk off-leash with precision, even when distractions are present.
- Stay calm in high-energy situations, performing commands even at a distance or in motion.
- Perfect their ability to respond under any circumstances, ensuring they are ready for real-world challenges.
